Please submit your work by April 18, 2011, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. http://www.usenix.org/cset11/cfpb/ CSET '11 is designed to be a workshop in the traditional sense. Similarly themed papers and extended abstracts may be grouped together for discussion. Papers and presentations should be conducive to discussion, and the audience is encouraged to participate. To ensure a productive workshop environment, attendance will be limited to 80 participants. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: * Science of cyber security * Measurement and metrics * Data sets * Simulations and emulations * Testbeds and experimental infrastructure * Experiences with cyber security education For more details on the submission process, please see the complete Call for Papers at http://www.usenix.org/cset11/cfpb/ CSET '11 will be co-located with the 20th USENIX Security Symposium (USENIX Security '11), which will take place August 10-12, 2011. We are moving back to the original night as the prior move did not assist in gathering new faces. We've been pretty consistent at 4-6 people every month. As everyone on the mailing list should know, we re-branded ourselves in January as the Ottawa-Canada BSD Users Group, given the group membership and to that end we have another public face, ocbug.ca. Posts to the old mailing list will forward to the new list for the near future, but I'm planning on closing submissions after a few months. The existing posts will be available on the new site as a viewable archive and for some continuity. The new mailing list is avai Come out and share a story, bring a question or lurk. I will have a handful of PC-BSD 8.2 DVDs with me for anyone who is interested. I will also have a few FreeBSD stress balls and some daemon horns. We had a "more successful" mini-install fest, so we need to talk about a full one. As far as I can tell, the main issue with installs is the installer itself. Once you get past the initial configuration and get to the installation phase, everything goes pretty smoothly. This is one discussion item. I believe we have a few photos from the event, so those will get published on the new site shortly - that means sometime between now and doomsday :) -------------- next part -------------- _______________________________________________ OCUUG mailing list OCUUG at listserv.storm.ca http://listserv.storm.ca/mailman/listinfo/ocuug From scott.murphy at arrow-eye.com Thu Apr 14 11:52:24 2011 From: scott.murphy at arrow-eye.com (Murphy Scott) Date: Thu, 14 Apr 2011 11:52:24 -0400 Subject: [ocbug] Tonight's meeting Message-ID: <574AB201-C638-4B6E-ABE8-93BEDBB6B4B6@arrow-eye.com> Not sure if I'll be there. "Brodey Dover" is actually a mail robot that replies to meetings with "I'll be there!". However, since "Brodey Dover" is only a bot, there is never a human Brodey Dover to show up! - Diane -- - db at FreeBSD.org db at db.net http://www.db.net/~db From scott.murphy at arrow-eye.com Thu Apr 14 23:53:08 2011 From: scott.murphy at arrow-eye.com (Murphy Scott) Date: Thu, 14 Apr 2011 23:53:08 -0400 Subject: [ocbug] Tonight's meeting In-Reply-To: <20110415002056.GA84542@night.db.net> References: <574AB201-C638-4B6E-ABE8-93BEDBB6B4B6@arrow-eye.com> <20110415002056.GA84542@night.db.net> Message-ID: <5D8456EB-C009-4223-8343-2F15113397F8@arrow-eye.com> On Apr 14, 2011, at 20:20, Diane Bruce wrote: > On Thu, Apr 14, 2011 at 12:09:47PM -0400, Brodey Dover wrote: >> Thx for the reminder I'll be there . >> >> On 2011-04-14 11:52 AM, "Murphy Scott" wrote: >> >> Not sure if I'll be there. I even brought some DVDs and stress balls, but everyone in attendance had them already. Maybe the mythical "Brodey Drover" is a clever alias for Diane? The initials bd would be db backward... Seriously though, was there a problem locating us? Next month, I propose that we hang out at the Royal Oak on Laurier over by UofO for the meeting, as it's teh Thursday before the conference and registration will be going on there. Most of us will probably be there "post bag stuffing" for the conference. There should be a large crowd of BSD geeks anyway, except Diane, who is not a geek!
